Manatees

Crystal River & Homosassa Springs

January included a short trip to see Manatees a bit north of where I live.

The B&B in Crystal River had a lagoon in the backyard where manatees would show up in the morning. The photo here shows just one of them.

A short walk to the river tour office, which drove us to the boat we took out on the river. Manatees galore!

On the way home I stopped at Homosassa Springs state park, where there were even more manatees. The coolest sight was the manatees sharing the water with the vast numbers of Crevalle Jack fish which were swimming in a giant spiral.
